1. Eligibility for Refund
Refunds are available only in limited circumstances and must be requested within 3 calendar days of the transaction date.
Eligible refund reasons include:
- A duplicate transaction or accidental overpayment;
- A processing error caused by a verifiable technical malfunction by Lifelines of Hope or our payment processor (e.g., GiveButter or Stripe), such as an incorrect amount being charged or an unintended recurring setup initiated by a system fault.
Note: A “processing error” does not include donor entry mistakes (e.g., entering an incorrect donation amount, wrong fund selection, or failing to cancel before a scheduled charge).
- A fraudulent or unauthorized charge verified by the cardholder’s financial institution.
Refunds will not be issued for:
- Change of mind or voluntary withdrawal after a valid donation;
- Failure to cancel a recurring contribution before it processes;
- Donations designated for a program where funds have already been disbursed; or
- Any transaction beyond 3 calendar days from the donation date.
⛔ After 3 calendar days from the transaction date, all donations are final and non-refundable.
2. Request Procedure
To request a refund, you must:
- Submit a written request to [email protected] within 3 calendar days of the donation;
- Include your name, transaction amount, date, payment method, and reason for the request; and
- Allow 7–10 business days for review and processing once approved.
Refunds will be issued to the original payment method only.
Cash or alternate payment reversals are not permitted.
3. Recurring Donations
Recurring donations are processed automatically on the schedule authorized by the donor.
- Donors may cancel or modify future recurring contributions at any time before the next scheduled charge.
- Once a recurring donation has been processed, it is considered final and non-refundable, even if a cancellation request is submitted immediately afterward.
- To avoid unwanted charges, donors must cancel their recurring gift prior to the next scheduled processing date.
4. Event Registrations & Merchandise
If Lifelines of Hope hosts an event or offers merchandise, separate refund terms will apply and will be clearly displayed at the point of sale or registration.
5. Processing Fees
Please note: Certain third-party transaction fees (e.g., credit card or gateway charges) may be non-refundable depending on the payment processor.
In such cases, your refund may exclude these fees.
6. Fraud Prevention
All refund requests are subject to verification.
Lifelines of Hope Foundation reserves the right to request identification, transaction confirmation, or supporting documentation to confirm legitimacy before processing any refund.
7. Recordkeeping
Refunds and refund requests are logged and retained in our secure records in compliance with IRS nonprofit accounting and audit standards.
8. Policy Updates
We may revise this Refund Policy from time to time to reflect operational or legal changes.
The most current version will always be posted on our website.
